Berapa modal?

Berapa modal?

Few days ago, I dapat DM from fellow soapmaker asked how much I spend for untuk sabunfiction. Tak banyak tapi banyaklah jugak. Aha faham tak?

Masa awal-awal dulu adalah few user feedback sabun ni. Mana feedback positif, of courselah hakak happy gils kan tapi mana yang negatif, I try to improve it. That's the beauty of handmade ni, I can try and error on my own tanpa perlu any chemist or, kena ada MOQ sana sini. Or nak bergaduh dengan kilang etc...

Dahulu kala, me, sil and my niece ada buat lipmatte. Nak finalise warna dah satu hal, nak dapatkan sample satu hal, nak pilih ingredients dah satu hal. Stress weih, lepas tu MOQ dia pun boleh tahan. We rugi more than 20k for that product. Tu yang susah kalau buat dekat kilang. Bila dah spend banyak on produk, you dah tak ada duit nak spend for marketing. Padahal in business ni 80% duit kena spend dekat marketing.

But lesson to be learnt. I buat benda yang I tau and I love   . So I start small, and let it grow organik. Serius dengan sabunfiction, I memang start small... Tapi bila ada failure...Ahaaa jeng jeng...  .

Berbalik kepada feedback dari customer, one of the popular feedback ialah sabun kami mengeringkan. Stress weih... Sabun natural sepatutnya melembabkan. Mana ada SLS, SLES segala mak nenek bahan sintetik untuk mengeringkan kulit. Macam mana boleh kering ni weih!!!!

You nak orang beli sabun you. So all these feedbacks you kena ambil kira tau.

So I buat banyak sabun, guna minyak ni, minyak tu, change the percentage, learn from other soapmaker just to find sabun yang melembabkan tetapi menggunakan bahan yang poket savvy. Minyak zaitun mahal ok. I can't do 100% sabun minyak zaitun and jual at RM15. Rugi den hukhuk.

So I end up spend a lot juga. My earlier batch sabun worth RM2k untuk R&D sahaja.

But kali ini, despites lipmatte aritu. I spend for my own experience. I dapat tahu more about oil properties. % of oils untuk sabun itu dan ini. Sebab semua I buat sendiri. Kalau dekat kilang, I mungkin pandai bertekak je, tapi how to solve masalah kulit kering ni, I kena hire a chemist kot... Dah duit lagi hukhuk... Pendek cerita for every batch failure that I made, I become wiser. Eceh ceh...

What Im trying to say is, start slowly. Tak kiralah what business you nak buat, start small. We can be ambitious tapi start small. Sebab bila you jatuh, it's easier to climb back, sebab the risk is still small.

Know your product and invest on yourself.

Antara satu sebab, why now baru Sabunfiction spend dekat packaging. Itu pun tak semua sabun ada kotak   .

Oh by the way, I buat kelas sabun coldprocess 25th Julai ni di Bangi.

Come and join us, I will share you all my failure batch story and how to overcome it.
